Diabetes Awareness Month comes to a close for another year today. I think we can all be proud that we did our very best to be heard. There were hundreds and thousands of blog posts, grassroots education campaigns, and local meet-ups.

Happy, happy long Thanksgiving weekend, everyone!
We here at the ‘Mine we are taking a few days off — whew. And no, in case you’re wondering, we’re not spending Thanksgiving in the hotel. That sure would blow. (Although we’re still living in that dump suite ).
We’ll be enjoying too much food with good friends at their house on Thursday, and then the rest of the weekend in gorgeous Big Sur. Yay!!

Last Wednesday, diabetes researchers and advocates from around the country convened in Washington, DC, for an FDA hearing on the Artificial Pancreas with the aim of making this pipe dream a reality.
