I hate to be Debbie Downer here, but despite our community’s best efforts, it seems doubtful that Google will ever consent to run a diabetes-related Doodle on World Diabetes Day, Nov. 14.
WTF? You may ask… But diabetes affects millions of Americans! By some estimates, diabetes will hit HALF OF AMERICA by 2020 and is costing the country more than $174 billion per year!!
How could Google possibly ignore such a pressing and widespread topic?!…

When we reported last summer about the Helmsley Charitable Trust developing an open national registry for type 1 diabetes, we were envisioning some kind of dry database, or perhaps a big listing of sorts like ClinicalTrials.gov.
