Results of the seven-year-long TODAY study (Treatment Options for Type 2 Diabetes in Adolescents and Youth) are out and as expected, they aren’t pretty.
Bottom line of this study, which is the largest of its kind to ever be done: No matter what medication’s being used, kids and teens have a harder time managing their type 2 diabetes and keeping blood sugars down. She and her publicist must have had a phone-a-thon today as she made herself available to the media, inevitably to answer to accusations of hypocrisy, profiteering, and just being a downright bad role model for people with diabetes everywhere.
