The holidays are upon us! Which for us PWDs means spending time with friends, family and coworkers, who are generally well-intentioned but often try to “help us out” with what they know from Oprah, or something they heard from the friend of a friend’s cousin who knows about diabetes from what he read while standing in the grocery store aisle. Everyone has a story. And many in the Diabetes Online Community (DOC) already know that our friend and fellow PWD (person with diabetes) Kim Vlasnik has a great one worth sharing. Our Diabetes Community is getting a bolus designed to strengthen our advocacy, education and support for people with diabetes across the United States.
Today, the Diabetes Hands Foundation (DHF) announced the nine winners of its inaugural Seeds Grant Program, a project funding initiative that we introduced you to back in March as a means to foster brilliant ideas in the community and strengthen projects already underway to improve the lives of people with diabetes (PWDs).
