The New York Times reports today that the rise in the use of home glucose monitors, also in hospitals, is pushing the Food and Drug Administration toward a possible crack-down on accuracy standards. Due to my busy summer, I somehow missed the excitement about TRUE2go, the world’s smallest blood glucose meter, which was granted FDA clearance in August. Was there excitement? From the looks of it, there should have been.

So my “mole” who attended the Diabetes Technology Society meeting in Maryland last week got back to me, and the news was kind of disappointing.
