Just because the American Diabetes Association has the word American in its name, doesn’t mean the organization’s reach doesn’t extend outside the U.S.
The ADA is going more global than ever now by holding its first-ever Middle East Congress in Dubai. Those of us in the U.S. sometimes feel as though our Diabetes Community friends across the pond get all the coolest gadgets and medications before we do Stateside.
A preview of highlights at this year’s big diabetes shindig, the Annual Meeting of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD), reinforced that feeling but brings a whole lot of excitement, since we are getting a glimpse into the future of what’s to come.

Since we tend to be pretty America-centric over here, we wanted to shine a spotlight on the annual conference for the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD), which is Europe’s equivalent to the American Diabetes Association. EASD is a huge professional org for doctors, researchers, nurses, students, and so on, with 7,000 members — from 110 different countries!
