environmental factors in diabetes

It’s widely accepted that the cause of diabetes is a mix of “nature and nurture,” i.e. both genetic and environmental factors.  Genes have been identified that seem to predict the occurrence of diabetes, but genetics alone are not enough to show who will get diabetes and who won’t.
