Well, we all made through another year!
Surprised we got through this one? Especially with that purported Mayan prediction about the world ending on Dec. 21, 2012? Well, we’re still here! Predictions of doom were apparently exaggerated… Perhaps the premonitions were of something “magical” that was supposed to happen, so we were crossing our fingers for a cure being discovered or the FDA approving the best-ever fantasy diabetes device… or somesuch.

Wow! We’re excited to welcome not one, but three senior FDA officers as joint guest posters here at the ‘Mine today. All three of these individuals attended and participated in the recent 2012 DiabetesMine Innovation Summit, which we hosted at Stanford University on Nov. 16.

To my mind, the DiabetesMine Innovation Summit I’ve hosted the last two years is not a “conference.” Rather, in the true tradition of a “Summit,” it aims to bring key decision-makers and other folks passionate about diabetes care together in one room for some very frank conversations about where we are now, what needs improvement, and how we can get to a better place as quickly as possible.
