This past Sunday through Tuesday, the legendary Joslin Diabetes Center hosted its first-ever “Diabetes + Innovation” conference at the Crystal City Hyatt hotel in Arlington, VA. (They tell us this DC location was more convenient for the many government and large healthcare orgs participating than Joslin’s home base in Boston.)

Our team will be out of the office tomorrow as we all head to Philadelphia to attend the 72nd annual American Diabetes Association Scientific Sessions conference. We at the ‘Mine are very excited to be covering this event for the 8th year running (!)

A patient’s relationship with their endocrinologist is… well, complicated. On one hand, endos spend years in school, learning all the intricate biomechanisms that make the body work, but on the other hand, they often sit behind a desk, doling out advice to patients who may have been living with a disease for longer than they’ve been familiar with it.
