The holidays are upon us! Which for us PWDs means spending time with friends, family and coworkers, who are generally well-intentioned but often try to “help us out” with what they know from Oprah, or something they heard from the friend of a friend’s cousin who knows about diabetes from what he read while standing in the grocery store aisle. Late last week, I came across a post by a kindred type 1 spirit talking about her recent travel spree that has left her with — for her — an undesirable A1c level. Today, let’s all give thanks…
… that at least something on the menu is! Sheesh!
Don’t forget to bolus for the stuffing, cranberries, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, candied yams, rolls, green bean casserole, pumpkin pie… Uh oh, we’re not sure our insulin pumps are big enough for all this!
