Though we’re still in the summer months, the school bell is already ringing in many places to mark back-to-school time for kids and parents. While many parents are likely relieved to “get a break” and have their kids back in class, this can be a very stressful experience for the parents of Children With Diabetes (CWDs) who have a LOT more to worry about than just textbooks and extracurricular activities.

You might not know it by just glancing at the name “Children with Diabetes,” but the annual diabetes conference in Florida each year isn’t a kids-only atmosphere. At least, not anymore.
Nowadays, the Friends for Life conference is definitely a grown-up party and more adults are joining in on the fun!

Last week, I attended the 13th annual Children with Diabetes Friends for Life conference in Orlando (which also has added great new offerings for adults with type 1 in the last few years!). It was a wonderful event with almost 3,000 attendees, including parents, children, adults with diabetes and their significant others.
