A fellow person with diabetes from Germany has braved the open ocean and sailed around the world despite his living with type 1 diabetes.
But when it comes to getting his D-devices to talk to each other and share data, adventure sailor Bastian Hauck feels it’s like sailing against the wind into rocky waters.

Last week, a virtual who’s-who of about 500 researchers and scientists working on diabetes technologies gathered in Bethesda, MD, for the 12th annual meeting of the Diabetes Technology Society. More than 70 presenters gave talks, mostly introducing new research, over the course of three days.
Myself and DOC consultant/advocate Kelly Close both gave talks about the power of patient-led social media (!)

When former “Good Morning America” anchor Joan Lunden, who is now a paid spokeswoman for PassportMD, was recently interviewed by ABC News about “the new world of online medical records, one of the first things she said was: “Ten years from now we’ll laugh that we were even having this conversation, because everybody will keep their family’s health records online.”
