In the January edition of the American Diabetes Association’s flagship professional journal Diabetes Care, the association has issued a document that lays out its wide-ranging official recommendations for diabetes care in the U.S.

We got word earlier this year that the American Diabetes Association was trying out a new training program dubbed a “patient simulator,” where docs can practice on not-so-real people with diabetes (PWDs), trying out everything from assessing conditions to ordering lab tests and meds. And they get graded on their decision-making!
Medical simulation is actually quite the trend, with a company called SciMed even launching a “virtual diabetes institute” last year.

Just because the American Diabetes Association has the word American in its name, doesn’t mean the organization’s reach doesn’t extend outside the U.S.
The ADA is going more global than ever now by holding its first-ever Middle East Congress in Dubai.
