Again, Januvia is one of the most searched-for terms on this site — which is interesting, because it’s an oral drug for controlling Type 2 diabetes with which I have no personal experience. I met Alexis at the recent BDI luncheon for women with Type 1 diabetes. She seemed bubbly and smart, and I felt an instant connection. When I discovered her job title was “Compliance Analyst,” I just had to hear more about that. Turns out it’s not quite what you think, but fascinating nevertheless.

I noticed a lot of chatter of late on diabetes forum sites about Symlin use. Some are still on the fence about trying this synthetic form of the human hormone Amylin, normally made by the beta cells, which helps level out post-meal glucose peaks. Others are just grateful that it’s now available in a convenient injection pen.
