Who’s tried Abbott’s new FreeStyle test strips with their fancy new “ZipWik” technology? These are the ones with the Butterfly on them, and the new tapered ends that poke out for much-improved blood uptake. I wrote about them when they were first introduced in this Test Strip News post.
Trouble is, now that they’re being shipped out to customers, nobody’s sure whether they’re compatible with the built-in meter on the OmniPod.

Whenever I learn something new (diabetes-related), I like to share it here. Because I figure if I hadn’t heard about it — as I’m sniffing the air for D-news over the years — then lots of other PWDs out there probably haven’t heard about it yet either.

The iPhone integration dreams of many a diabetic are coming true at last!!
Sanofi-Aventis made history today at the annual EASD (European Association for the Study of Diabetes) conference, if you ask me. They have introduced the first-ever medical device that actually physically plugs into the iPhone and iPod Touch! It’s a tiny new USB-sized glucose meter they’re calling iBGStar.
