In a recent post about the possibility of cutting medical coverage for glucose test strips via Washington state’s Heath Technology Assessment program (HTA), we mistakenly implied that JDRF was not sufficiently involved in advocacy efforts to thwart this potentially disastrous decision.
In fact, the ‘Mine has learned that JDRF was quite involved, although there was no independent statement on JDRF letterhead included in the final report documenting public comments and responses.

This week, J&J’s Animas is recalling a batch of 45,000 faulty insulin cartridges shipped between Nov. 30, 2010, and Jan. 4, 2011, that reportedly can leak insulin, resulting in the delivery of less insulin than intended.
