Ohio resident Carol Patterson, who donated her time and convinced some of her neighbors to help out the American Diabetes Association, is disgusted with the organization and doesn’t plan to contribute her time or money ever again.
Hearing her story makes us clench our fists, but even more infuriating and disappointing is how the ADA has responded to the allegations in question.

When 1,500 people come together to talk diabetes and brainstorm on how to improve the patient experience, you can generally expect great things! Especially when it comes to the national conference series Taking Control of Your Diabetes (TCOYD), a group that always seems to “get it right” when addressing patient needs. Those of us in the U.S. sometimes feel as though our Diabetes Community friends across the pond get all the coolest gadgets and medications before we do Stateside.

This past Sunday through Tuesday, the legendary Joslin Diabetes Center hosted its first-ever “Diabetes + Innovation” conference at the Crystal City Hyatt hotel in Arlington, VA. (They tell us this DC location was more convenient for the many government and large healthcare orgs participating than Joslin’s home base in Boston.)
