Bob Krause is a modern-day diabetes hero. He celebrated his 90th birthday on May 27, and has lived with diabetes for 85 of those years! He was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes just a few years after insulin was invented by Banting and Best. The somewhat tenuous division between people with type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes has always existed, but it’s been more in the public eye lately after being discovered by mainstream media (see the November Chicago Tribune article, ‘Diabetes’ Civil War‘).
