We’re excited to bring you yet another new video today in our DiabetesMine Test Kitchen!
As we continue to add to our crowdsourced collection of diabetes product video reviews, created by and for people with diabetes, today’s edition happens to coincide with another type of “test kitchen” underway in our Diabetes Community — one that focuses not on product offerings, but on new paths to diabetes advocacy!
What we’re talking about is the new day-long advocacy MasterLab put on by the Diabetes Hands Foundation at this year’s Children with Diabetes Friends for Life conference, which kicks off today in Orlando, FL. Dozens of our fellow PWDs and D-Advocates are taking part in this special program, which we’re following online using the hashtags #MasterLab and #CWDFFL14, and we look forward to publishing a special report on that next week.
One of the D-Advocates attending is the very awesome Heather Gabel, a fellow type 1 who blogs at Unexpected Blues. And it just so happens that Heather is also the creator of today’s new video review in our Test Kitchen.
She also has a little help in the video… from her beloved dog, Lancet the Pug!
Heather reviews TruePlus glucose products, a line of products from Nipro Diagnostics that includes a flavorful variety of glucose tabs, gel, and liquid “shots” (no, not those shots!). She really likes these fast- acting glucose options, but echoes a point many of us have made before: the relative easy of opening the packaging matters, especially in products made to treats lows.
So if you’re looking for any new fast-acting glucose options yourself, or you’re just curious about patient-made evaluations of diabetes products, check out Heather’s video review by clicking the button below.
