I had the great pleasure of watching Zippora dance with the New York City Ballet. She was an exquisite dancer. I enjoyed her first book, Sugarless Plum, and am thrilled she’s written a book for children now. I work at a public school, and will suggest to the school librarian that she get a copy!

Thank you for releasing this book that does not talk down to kids and which gives those with diabetes a voice! I was diagnosed at 8 years old after already starting ballet…went on to dance as an Indiana University ballet major after all the years of dancing with diabetes (not to mention a nasty anorexia which unfortunately affect so so many preteens with diabetes). I remember reading Zippora’s article in Dance Magazine way back when I was newly diagnosed and being very inspired, so thank you!!

Our 12 year old daughter was dx this past June. When the doctor left the room, Hallie’s very first question was “Will I still be able to dance?”. I replied, “Absolutely!! This is manageable and you will be able dance your heart out!!” She was moved up with the high school girls this fall at her dancing school. Dancing is her life. She takes pointe, lyrical, hip hop, tap and jazz. She is also on the competition team which will perform their dance one time out of town.
If we do not win a copy of the book, I would really like to purchase this book for her. Thank you, thank you, thank you for writing this book!!! <3 I can not wait to tell her about you! DMBOOKS
