(Guess who?) All you have to do is leave a comment below each week’s blog giveaway, following the particular prompt for that week.
Easy enough, D-Friends!
Today, we have a HUGE giveaway (10 prizes!) from Sugar Medical Supply, the small PWD-run business that we profiled in October 2011 for making a line of stylish diabetes bags for guys and gals. You may remember that company founder Carolyn Jager in New Hampshire is a fellow type 1 PWD who was 13 when she was diagnosed, following her younger sister Susan’s diagnosis about five years earlier. That pair of diagnoses is what led to Sugar Medical’s formation in 2009 and her launching the first product line three years ago in November 2010.
Three years later, Sugar Medical is going strong and staying mighty in the market for snazzy swag bags designed especially for us PWDs! Right now, aside from launching some cool brand-new bag offerings soon, Carolyn tells us that her little biz has just unveiled a new logo, pictured here.
Remember that Sugar Medical’s meter cases all contain an adjustable velcro strap that fits 99% of the meters on the market securely, with a clear plastic portion that goes over the face of the meter so you can clearly see the screen. Carolyn also works with OmniPod for bag designs specific to Pod users — which makes Amy very happy! Right now, Sugar Medical carries nine different bags and three OmniPod-specific bags, along with five small pouches that can be used to cart diabetes gadgets and supplies around. Options range from flowery to polka-dot to geometric multi-color designs.
But coming soon, there’ll be even more! Carolyn tells us that new designs will hit the market on Dec. 10 — just in time to catch the end of Christmas shopping season. While those bags are still under wraps and photos aren’t being released yet, you’ll hear the details first here at the ‘Mine, we promise. What’s coming are two new patterns for the OmniPod bags and six new regular cases, as well as retail packaging that will mean Sugar Medical will be able to sell through small pharmacies — possibly coming soon to a pharmacy near you.
In early December, Sugar Medical will be announcing each bag on its Facebook page and then placing that bag on its website for pre-sale orders for the holidays.
Meanwhile, here’s what today’s giveaway has in store for ‘Mine readers who leave a comment below: We’re giving away 10 free Sugar Medical bags, and each winner can choose one of four styles: Bella Blue, Java Bloom, Apple Blossom, or Digital Camo.

You have until Friday, Nov. 8, at 5pm PST to enter. A valid email address is required to win.
But wait, that’s not all….!
We’re also excited to offer an exclusive 25% discount special to ‘Mine readers!
In case you’re not a giveaway winner, just head on over to Sugar Medical’s website and key in the offer-code DMine25 (for a 25% discount, get it?). This coupon expires Dec. 6, so it won’t include the newest bags… but it will go toward anything on the website between now and then!
