How exactly do we access this? I’m clicking, with no luck. It says to copy this long address to our website or blog. What if we don’t have a website or a blog? Now I need to figure out how to set up a website or a blog?

I’d really like to have an insulin dosing application, not a chart. The FDA has been really quite controlling on insulin dosing applications. It has required the approval of electronic devices to do these calculations, in some cases requiring the disabling of some features in blood sugar meters. And in 2011, the FDA published draft guidance [1] on mobile apps which required approval for insulin dosing apps. This web based application to generate a dosing chart may well evade the FDA, but using the calculator from your mobile devices is technically a “no no.”

The Diabetes Calculator for Kids, available for any patient who uses insulin, creates an individualized chart for rapid-acting insulin bolus dosage in five easy steps. After the parent or patient completes those steps online, a customized chart is produced that can be emailed or printed off. It provides the parent, caregiver or patient an easy way to look up the correct insulin dosage based on current blood glucose, without having to do the math each time.

This is great – any chance of a calculator in mmol/l for those of us outside the US?
