Camp Sweeney has been using electronic medical records on the Windows platform since 2001.

The whole camp has been wifi-connected, at least since 2003.

The director of the camp, who is a pediatric endocrinologist, did his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering. He coded all of the programs himself.

Being one of the presenters on Electronic Records at the Leona M. Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust meeting I would like to comment.

To date we have successfully deployed our application at 3 different diabetes camps. The Florida Camp for Children and Youth with Diabetes, Camp Hertko Hollow and the Sam Fuld’s Diabetes Camp.

A full beta test was done in 2012 at FCCYD with over 120 campers at both sessions. Paper and digital records were kept, and when compared, the digital records proved more reliable and preferred among counselors and medical staff.

Since the launch the application has seen multiple enhancements and has been thoroughly tested during 6 sessions with over 120 campers at each session.
