I would love having a way to determine whether my insulin was still good. The box says it’s supposed to last 28 days, and I remember 9 years ago it used to, but now I’m having doubts. When my numbers start edging up, I discard the pen/cartridge even if it has an inch or more of insulin. My a1c went up while I was learning to do this, but I still don’t think I’m catching it early enough. And of course the pharmacy and my endo believe it’s because I’m lying about how many cookies I eat.
