My A1C dropped a few tents of a percent when I switched to the iBGStar meter. Prior to pumping, my life as a Type I changed infinitely for the better when I switched from NPH to Lantus in 2001. Keep up the good work, Sanofi-Aventis! I am so glad you work for them,Andreas!

I really like the IBGStar but unfortunately I am unable to read the a face of it
in daylight. I mention this just in case others have the same problem. I am in my mid 80′s and realize that it is probably caused by aging eyes. I wish I could use it because it is accurate, convenient with IPods and IPhones plus it has a really neat carrying case.

@Richard – I am unable to read the face of my OmniPod PDM in daylight either, and I’m 40 years younger than you, so don’t feel bad!

Luckily, the OP does have a button you can push to jack up the backlight, but it’s still somewhat dim in sunshine. I think all of these D-screens should be tested outside in the CA sun before going to market ;)

I wish I had your Insulin Pump oroblem.. I have been trying to get One thru the VA for Yrs with no luck
Now being On Medicare? No Luck with that Medicare Endo Either.. and I have been thru 3 Medicare Endo’s..!
and Both don’t want to Give me more Test strips!
VA gives me 6 and the Medicare gives me 4
and I have to Use 2 dif. Test Meters as well..

So I have Decided to SUE them Both !
I’m going to at least cost them more in court and lawayers cost than it would have been to Just give me the Insulin Pump and more Test strips..

and These Test Meters are No fun to Read in Daylight either.. I use a Pen Flashlight..They can Make a LCD system that is Like the One on your Cable Box and DVD player.. But It probably cost an extra $5 !
So Sue them ! Get a Class action.. going..

Sorry you’re being treated so horribly, our experience w/endo’s varies a lot; some great; some very bad. No one seems to no what outcome Obama care will have on Type 1′s; hopefully it helps people like yourself. My wife has the Omni pod and the Dexcom, but I’m still working and have insurance. I’m concerned about what will happen with Obama care and I’m concerned about when I retire in 6 years and my wife will be 62 and start on Medicare. Good luck with your lawsuit and having the “b***s to do it; I hope other people will join in.
