This book sounds like a Godsend. I am a mother of a type 1 for 7 years now, and often wonder what my son’s adult life will be like. I can’t wait to read it. DM Books.

I showed my spouse the passage above that begins, “It isn’t just that my body fails me — I fail myself.”

Just that one paragraph communicated so much to him that I have been unable to adequately verbalize before. he wonders why I ‘beat myself up’, seem to be perpetually trying to ‘do better’ in all aspects of my life.

My feelings of diabetes failure over-drive my desire to succeed elsewhere.

My 9 year old son was just diagnosed two days ago and I’m still dealing with the why and looking for some sort of reason and understanding. It will be a long journey ahead but we will be with him every step of the way.
