I’ve been in there situation dealing with preschool and T1D and just watching this video is giving me anxiety! Our preschool did not check blood sugar though so I had to stay close to home, checked right before I dropped her off and then went to check her and give insulin at lunch time. I would love to hear how preschool is going for them!

My daughter was in 2nd grade when she was diagnosed so a little older and more able to share what she was feeling, but there was still alot of anxiety on my part. Our school has been unbelievably supportive and willing to help her in whatever she needs.

My son has type 1 diabetes. We have no flamiy history of diabetes 1 or 2, but there is strong flamiy history of pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer. Another unusual bit of information: my son came down with the mumps at 6 months of age. No one had any idea how he got it, but the mumps can get into your pancreas. I believe type 1 diabetes is a auto-immune disease but what triggers the body to attack itself?? Possible heredity, or a virus or maybe just a weakness in the pancreas.PS: The insulin pump is amazing! -do check into it.
