    Thanks for the helpful information, I have been a diabetic who has recently been having some dry skin issues and this post really helped me to see what was wrong.

    Castile soap is vegetable based and my derm recommended for my dry skin. Been very happy with the results.

    Thank you Wil! I am one of those detail-oriented freaks and mom to a T1D just since March. I’ve been trying to understand the hypo thing. The endocrine system is so complex, sometimes I think my brain will explode.

    For dry skin on feet try Bag Balm in a green tin–it has done wonders for my dry and crack prone feet! Apply thick layer before bed and sleep with socks on–in the morning it will be absorbed!

    I’m a bit late to this, but for the dry skin:
    Bag Balm can be amazing, but painful if you have neuropathy. My Podiatrist recommended a cream called uremol 20 which works wonders.
