Attending the American Diabetes Association’s Scientific Sessions as patients certainly affords us a unique window into progress on diabetes tools and devices, clinical research, and cure research. But what about the health professionals for whom this conference was actually designed? Surely they have a different perspective on all the “breaking news.”
For some insight from an attending clinician and researcher, we turned one of our favorite diabetes experts, Dr. 
Richard Jackson, an endocrinologist at the Joslin Diabetes Center, co-author with Amy on the book Know Your Numbers, Outlive Your Diabetes, and an all-around great guy.
Dr. Jackson took a few minutes on the last day of the conference to share his thoughts on the sessions, the research, and the good news he wants us patients to know about the future of diabetes.
