OK, so this is a promo video. It introduces yet another new online community for people with type 1 diabetes, this one founded by a team led by Jonny White out of Canada, that’s also working on a full-length documentary by the same name, which we wrote about here.
But despite its call for sponsors (solicitation bent), I couldn’t resist the urge to share this video, which for the first time ever, seems to scream that with diabetes as well as with everything else in life: first impressions count!
Think of the days, weeks, months, decades in which people diagnosed with diabetes were told nothing but the negative, and left flailing on their own to find motivation and a desperately needed bright side. Think about all that. And then watch this:
Standing O to Jonny and his team at WelcometoType1. Thank you — at last — for this encouraging welcome to the club!

Awesome! Great visuals and message.
Hope to hear great positive things from you soon!!!!
That was great! And so true! I found out about my T1 in 1980 and it was very depressing back then. No home meters, but at least there were some test strips if you could afford them and cut them into smaller strips. Things have really come a long way. I remember when I got my 1st meter and later my Minimed 506 pump! Things have changed so much, and the future will be here in no time!
