A time to revere those who “think different”…
I couldn’t help revisiting this inspired explanation of equal rights from my middle daughter at age 5 (she’s 12 now). Ever wonder what they teach kindergarteners about Martin Luther King, Jr.? Watch this:
Enjoy your freedom, All!

Thanks for sharing.
Does Joelle know that the black people had to **earn*** the thees
the right to be treated fairly by getting ALL black
people to quit riding the bus. Does she know that the
black people walked to get to work and to church?
The few black people drove their cars to help other
black people get to where they had to be if they could not
not walk. And of course, the flyers. They passed
out flyers to make sure ALL black people in the
greater Montgomery area knew what was going on.
Walk to work. Walk home from work. Walk to
grocery store. Walk home from grocery store.
Walk to church. Walk home from church.
This went on for the better part of a year!
The bus company lost half their revenue during
this period. The white people took notice.
Probably not.
Maybe when she is older ( in
high school ? ) she will be able to appreciate how
much effort would have gone into sustaining this
effort for a year.
@Adam – she was 5!! Of course, we all understand more nuances as we grow up.
