I started using the original Mayo Clinic diet over the summer, and it’s been immensely helpful. I’ve had to make very few adjustments to account for my Type 2. While my weight loss has been slower than I’d like to see, I have noticed that my blood sugars have dropped like a rock. I’m pretty sure I’m eating more grams of carbs now than I was before I started, but since it’s mostly whole grains and whole produce, my levels are pretty stable.

Since I’m pretty active, I aim for about 1600 calories a day. Otherwise I’m hungry ALL THE TIME.

Having just been diagnosed with a SUPER under-active thyroid, my fasting insulin levels are high and my Doctor is worried! Plus with both parents being diabetic and other family having history as well, I am concerned too. I have been put on a low-no carb diet for a month and am trying super hard to loose the weight and regulate my “pre-diabetic” condition with diet! Thanks for your wonderful website (which I just signed up to) and all the helpful information within it! I need all the help I can get! “DM BOOKS”

Dear DM Books, I would love to win this book, because I don’t think there is any other way I’m going to be able to get hold of it. It is very hard to follow any western diet where I live, so I’m hoping that this book will have some general principles to guide me.

Thanks for bringing this diet, and the books to my attention! I wasn’t aware of the Mayo Clinic diet, but it looks like one that is sensible and worth trying out. Hope I’m the lucky one, but if not this one may go on my Christmas list too.

The description sounds exactly like their regular Mayo Clinic Diet book. I’m curious to see what they did to adapt it for people with diabetes, or if the name is just a marketing technique to reach a new audience.

I am starting an exercise study to see how the effects of exercise help the brain. I am also wanting to lose some weight so the DMBooks would be wonderful in helping me meet my goals.

What a great way to start the “feasting” season without gaining weight. I love the idea of the journal, as I always do better when tracking what I eat, but I can’t always sustain it over time. DMBooks. Looking foward to reading it.

I am excited by the Mayo Diabetes Diet, especially the food log mentioned in the article referencing DM BOOKS. I currently do my food log using LIVE STRONG app on my Ipad.
