Hello Readers and Friends,
This has been in the making for the better part of a year: we’re very excited to announce that as of next week, Nov. 1 (also the kick-off of National Diabetes Awareness Month), DiabetesMine.com will be getting a whole new look!
Well… a very recognizable look, we hope, but a thoroughly refreshed design with emphasis on two important things:
1. Improved navigability – making it easier to find and filter through the nearly 2,000 posts that have appeared here at the ‘Mine over the last 6+ years. Keep your eye on the top of the page next week, for all new pull-down menus that will help you easily identify posts about specific products, people, organizations, etc., etc.
2. Along the same lines, the ability for us to highlight a whole lot more “stuff” on the front page — including for example our weekly Sunday Funnies series, and a “pop-out strip” that allows us to keep exciting posts up-front for longer, AND the ability to show gravatars from commentors, so we can see who’s talking. Yay!
Thanks to our good friends at Alliance Health Networks, here’s a quick preview of what to expect next week:
* Speaking of the many, many, many posts that have appeared over the years here at the ‘Mine — you’ve also contributed many, many, many voices to meaningful DOC discussions here, and we want to thank you all for that! As we approach our 20,000th reader comment in the coming months (no kidding!), we plan to launch a contest with a special D-related giveaway to the individual who posts that “golden” 20K comment. More on our 20,000 Voices Contest coming soon…

Congratulations! The Mine has come a long way! (Couldn’t resist commenting and getting you one comment closer to the 20,000!)
You were my first. Blog, that is.
Looking forward to lots more posts from both of you!
And now – you’re one more closer!
