Very exciting news: Two new regular contributors will be joining us soon here at the ‘Mine! We’re introducing something I’m cheekily calling “The Weekend Edition” with some very special kind of can’t-find-it anywhere-else content:
On Saturdays, look for our brand new advice column called Ask D’Mine. This series will be hosted by my good friend, veteran type 1, diabetes author and community
educator Wil Dubois — with occasional input from Allison and myself.
“Need help navigating life with diabetes? Email us at AskDMine@diabetesmine.com“
This is a place to send all your quirky or potentially embarrassing questions, behind-the-scenes curiosities, lifestyle queries, or even ethical dilemmas related to life with diabetes. In short: Don’t know who else to ask? Ask D’Mine!
btw, large DISCLAIMER. This is one of the first things we worked on. Wil did the wordsmithing here, and I love it:
Disclaimer: This is not a medical advice column. We are PWDs freely and openly sharing the wisdom of our collected experiences — our been-there-done-that knowledge from the trenches. But we are not MDs, RNs, NPs, PAs, CDEs, or partridges in pear trees. Bottom line: we are only a small part of your total prescription. You still need the professional advice, treatment, and care of a licensed medical professional.
Right!
Then on Sundays, look for our new Sunday Funnies series, featuring original cartoons from the original type 1 snark-artist herself Haidee Merritt — with occasional other silly items slotted in.
Haidee’s brand of eccentric humor — highlighted in her book One Lump or Two — is just the sort of thing that makes us smile here at the ‘Mine. We hope
you will like it too, over your Sunday coffee or any day of the week when you happen to catch up on your D-blog reading.
{btw, Haidee created our Help Button icon above, too. We ♥ Haidee}
Look for our first edition this weekend, and by all means, let us know what you think…
We ♥ feedback and suggestions, as well!

This sounds awesome! I’m looking forward to it!
Wow I just found your site and I must say I have to be at the right place. this must also be the right time according to your changes and new additions to “private content”. This is very exciting. I am a diabetic with over 10 years of suffering. The worst part is my Doctor’s didn’t tell me when they first found out.
I have had diabetes disease type two and with the compounded effect of not knowing I have irreversibly caused major damage to my own body. I hope that with the support of others I can at least live up to my best.
Thank you for making such a wonderful place on line.
@Teri Lynn – I have no idea what you mean by “private content,” but thank you for the note. Hope you’ll be back this weekend to check out our new stuff!
Sounds interesting I will be turning in this weekend.
