I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend, and the (for you too?) gorgeous weather that blessed us for World Diabetes Day 2010.
Here in San Francisco, Kelly Close and her team at Close Concerns collaborated with the local JDRF chapter, and ADA too, to bring us a fantastic rally at the Yerba Buena Rooftop Gardens near the SF Convention Center. It was a perfect evening:

The SF organizer gang - Fabiana Couto (Diabetes Hands Foundation) • Jeff Halpern (Abbott) • Kelly Close (diaTribe) • Charles Renfroe, LifeScan • Emily Walton (DHF) • Doug Burns (Mr. Universe 2007 & 2008) • Alisa Bekins (diaTribe) • Andreina Davila (DHF) • (not pictured: Bryan Gallagher, Novo Nordisk, and Carolyn Eisen, JDRF) • Thanks to everyone!
You’ll be happy to know that we surpassed our goal for the Big Blue Test video, with over 114,000 views by Nov. 14. Way to go, Diabetes Community!!
Also, for a little post-World Diabetes Day 2010 joy, watch awesome D-blogger George Simmons (aka @ninjabetic) sing his original song “That’s My Type” with his son, here. We {heart} you too, George!
Oh, and btw: we’re extending the Team Type 1 Rwanda Strip-A-Thon comments contest to the end of November, so there’s plenty of time to donate and post a message for the kids in need.

Missed you guys!! Participated in the Dancing Diabetes event put together by the ACT1Diabetes people here in NYC.
[...] This post was mentioned on Twitter by Manny Hernandez, a diabetes community, DiabetesMine, Bernard Farrell, The Poor Diabetic and others. The Poor Diabetic said: RT @tudiabetes: Beautiful!! The only information I got about WDD was from JDRF who told me about San Jose and what they were lighting up. I am so incredibly sad our family missed this.
Next year.
You guys are doing a good thing. Keep it up.
@Meri – I’m sad too. I though you guys would be there. I really think the word didn’t get out nearly as well as it should have. I only found out about the rally event the day before (Saturday). Grrr. We’ll have to remedy that for next year!!
Good concept and excellent post. This is my first time i visit here. I found so many interesting stuff in your blog. I am looking forward some more information from your end, it’s really helpful for me. I will bookmark your site to check if you write more about in the future. Please keep up the good work.
