    I like their quote that it can “turn a vegetarian into a meat lover, one scoop at a time!”

    Uh. This vegetarian says “I don’t think so!”

    And I have NEVER turned down a scoop of ice cream. Nope, not even curious.

    I read the above editorial. Agree that the ADA’s magazine pushes a low-fat/high-carb diet. I never use their recipes because the carb count for dessert often is what I am allotted for the day, and that’s for a small serving. The doctor’s patients are mainly Type 2′s and he recommends eating more whole grains, fruits and vegetables, nuts and cheese, not just raw vegetables exclusively. I also wonder about the industry’s view of Metformin as a miracle drug. It’s easier to prescribe than to do the GAD test to see if a patient is Type 1 or LADA and then try to regulate the dosage of insulin.
