I really appreciate for your efforts and your comments. I think that many people think type 1 diabetes can be controlled by insulin. While insulin does keep people with type 1 diabetes alive, it is NOT a cure. Aside from the daily challenges of living with type 1 diabetes, there are many severe, often fatal, complications caused by the disease.

I am so glad to see a bicycling team dedicated to Diabetes, really makes me happy that diabetes is making its way into sports with more boldness. Thank you for your efforts and I hope to see a member of Team Type 1 in the Tour De France!

I enjoy watching the TT1 stuff across the web. I used to work with a couple members of the team, and they are great guys. I wish continued success to all of them!

thanks for the post, Phil. I'm curious--do your cyclists mount the CGM on the bike? How well does it work during competition? I have been doing more road race/crit events and they seem much more challenging than triathlon in some ways, mostly due to the less predictable effort... I often seem to end up with really high BG. I don't have a CGM unfortunately. Do they ever increase basal rates for a crit, for example?
cheers.
