It's always interesting to see new developments in the treatment of diabetes. Maybe one day we'll get a handle on it!

I wonder how expensive this device will be, and if we will be able to get insurance companies to cover it. I actually see this as a diagnostic tool used by doctors, much as the Holter Monitors the heart for 24 hours, recording data and bringing it back to the doctor to see how a patient's daily activities affect his glucose levels, so adjustments in diet, exercise, and meds can be monitored more effectively.

Great post, Amy.

One finger stick is required. The SEVEN PLUS and Guardian/Paradigm need to be calibrated every 12 hours.

Is anyone really going to buy sensors with one day lifetimes [even if they work perfectly]? Wouldn't at least one calibration versus a finger stick method be required to verify device is working correctly?

Well the good ol'government FDA is already delaying MM fun ideas so why should they let this one pass? I doubt they will get very far with our wonderful red tape laden government system.

my favorite thing about this company is that they are actually trying to free up the data so we can use it how we want! maybe some people don't think diabetics are going to do themselves in with too much info. Whether their product works well is yet to be determined, it appears. Is this really non-invasive? Does it irritate the skin?

I really hope the FDA doesn't start giving companies a hard time for having CGM systems that are too accurate, due to the studies on some problems with tight control. Let's not forget the DCCT folks.

The concept is so strange I cannot form any opinion on how well it might work. It's so strange it might work!
