Thanks for sharing a very informative post, it's really a great help not just for me but for all of the people who wants to cure and avoid diabetes in their life.

But my only concern is the children. We all know that diabetes is not picking its victim; it can be the old ones or the young ones. If a have a child that has diabetes is it fine if he will join the Diabetes Training Camp?!

If not, do you have another option so we can still control the diabetes?! I will wait for your answer, thanks again for a nice post.

I love the comparison between how many hours we exercise versus how many hours one 'could' manage their diabetes. Well said!

Thank you for this great information. For 46+ years as a type-1 I've been wrestling with this issue and have gotten no useful information to help me...until now. Great article, looking forward to the following parts.

I enjoyed this guest post quite a bit! Thank you Mark and Amy!

The subject of exercise is a HUGE one for many of us with diabetes. And it is so complicated sometimes.

Diabetes Training Camp was so worth the money! Considering all the counseling, workouts, lectures, meals, accomodation, etc. it is the best deal around. Even after having type 1 for over 35 years and being an endurance athlete for the last five years of that, I learned so much that has made a huge difference in my life and health. Trade that against complications and the cost of paying for each piece of the puzzle individually! Also, talk to them about the possibility of a bursary, scholarship, etc.

Are there any other camps for adults out there that don't cost so much? I would love to do something like that, but WOW the price is way out of my range!

Great post! The emphasis on getting the "rest of the day" in better control to help with BG's during exercise is a great perspective. One of those things that makes perfect sense, but is so easy to forget.
