I haven't read it yet, but I hope Wil recommends a mental health professional from the start. As a mother of an adolescent type 1 I am becoming an advocate of having such a pro as part of the team from the start. Upon diagnosis, we are so careful until we find we can slip a little with no immediate bad effects, and then we start slipping more and more. The mental/emotional aspect of this disease is huge. Insulin is a hormone, after all. Love your site, Amy and all the work you do.
