New Face of the Old Bumper Sticker

I was thinking about how you don’t see so many bumper stickers on cars these days. A few, to be sure, but during recent elections I noticed that folks seemed very hesitant to advertise their political views on their automobiles. Oddly, I felt the same way, even though I’m part of this new tidal wave of people willing to “put it all out there” on the Internet.

Just for fun, I searched for diabetes bumper stickers, and found some great stuff:

needle-bumper-sticker

sweet-dreams-bumper-sticker

got-insulin-bumper-sticker

and even…

gluten-stops-here-bumper-sticker1

Would I slap one of these on the back of my silver mini-van? Naw, I don’t think so. But posting one on my Facebook Page? Now that’s another story!

Did you know (I didn’t) that virtual bumper stickers on Facebook have become something of a national obsession? There are literally millions of these little graphic badges ready for posting on your Facebook profile, and the Bumper Sticker application makes it easy to create your own.

Of course I was too lazy to do that.  So after browsing over 200 existing stickers tagged “diabetes” (!), I chose this:

diabetes-facebook-sticker

See what I mean?  Not something I’d EVER paste on my car.  But for online — oh yes!  Now if I could only figure out how to add some of these cool facebook-small-iconD-Stickers to the newly created DiabetesMine Facebook Page…  (Please have a look and let me know your thoughts).

Oh, and btw, do be careful what you post on Facebook. The cops don’t just patrol the streets anymore.
