I grew up with a type 1 diabetic younger sibling, who was diagnosed in childhood. I was diagnosed in my twenties. The most important thing, in my view, is educating the KIDS about how to take care of themselves --as early as possible. It's about the children, not about the parents.

Disclosure: I have always been a Jeff Hitchcock fan.

Amy, I don't know how much time you spend at CWD, but lately I've been there a lot and obviously have a new appreciation for it. From my experience, Jeff's "PR" answer as you call it, is accurate. I haven't seen a negative impact from the J&J relationship and CWD has remained focused on their mission. I have found it to be a god-send, and I knew way more about diabetes than the average parent when my son was diagnosed.
