I grew up with a type 1 diabetic younger sibling, who was diagnosed in childhood. I was diagnosed in my twenties. The most important thing, in my view, is educating the KIDS about how to take care of themselves –as early as possible. It’s about the children, not about the parents.

Disclosure: I have always been a Jeff Hitchcock fan.

Amy, I don’t know how much time you spend at CWD, but lately I’ve been there a lot and obviously have a new appreciation for it. From my experience, Jeff’s “PR” answer as you call it, is accurate. I haven’t seen a negative impact from the J&J relationship and CWD has remained focused on their mission. I have found it to be a god-send, and I knew way more about diabetes than the average parent when my son was diagnosed.
