Great list! I was wondering if you had heard of the National Diabetes Goal website? Their goal is that “By 2015, 45% of Americans who are at risk
for type 2 diabetes will know their blood glucose level and what actions to take.” Their PSA enlisted the help of actress Jean Smart to encourage people to get their blood sugar level tested. It’s available on YouTube – (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EyK3JZ46s20). I read that you have Type I diabetes, but do you have any thoughts on the video?

I may not know much about diabetes but i can tell that parenting kids with it would be a bit difficult. I have read a few blogs and found this website which talks about Diabetes Diet and Nutrition i think it would be a great help.

The EMR (electronic medical records) website seems to be for medical centers/clinics – to manage large amnts of patient data. Am I missing something? Is it useful for individuals? Maybe this is an item to watch as Obama (hopefully) enacts some of his ideas re: health care (campaign promises, anyone?) — not that he’s going to have any money to do so, mind you.

PS thx for the medical waste site – reminds me I need to call my local DPW and ask if anything’s changed re: sharps disposal in my city. (Sending all that plastic to incinerators seems awfully environmentally hazardous, not to mention un-green, for this age of climate change).
