The deal with metformin is that it is a generic drug. Before the extended-release version was available as a generic, it might have been found under the brand name “Glucophage XR”, or the original brand-name metformin, “Glucophage”. Other information would need to be found through a site such as drugs.com (which supplies pharmacy-insert information), or through a more specialized database.

Recently, my top-ten diabetes sites have been social networks and blogs: TuDiabetes, Diabetes TalkFest, Diabetic Rockstar, dLife, Diabetic Connect (not necessarily in that order); Diabetes Mine, David Mendosa’s blog, Allie’s Voice, YDMV, Scott’s Web Log, Diabetes Central, Diabetes Self-Management, Six Until Me, the B.A.D. Blog, Bennet’s Diabetes Blog, etc. (not in any particular order)…

I will spend more time on a manufacturer’s site when I have questions about their products or am trying to research a product.
