Summer Reading Here at the Mine

This morning I am boarding a plane for Mexico, and later to LA and then Germany and Holland.  Just over a whole month on the road this summer, wow!  Sounds glamorous, I know, but actually travel stresses me out.  I am of course looking forward to quality time with friends and family.

And what will be happening here at the blog?  Quite a bit, I hope. I wanted to prepare you all for a new series of guest posts, by experts, pundits, authors, fellow bloggers and a host of other interesting people I have invited to share their news and views here at DiabetesMine.com. Each one will be clearly marked as a guest post so you’ll know who’s doing the talking.

I’ll also attempt to update you a bit on my travel whereabouts, and any D-related experiences of note.  Man, travel poops me out.  Check out the tips and tricks at the latest JDRF Blogger Roundtable, btw.

Meanwhile, I’ll be doing a bit of summer reading myself, non-D-related, for a change: David Sedaris’ latest, “When You Are Engulfed in Flames.” Now there’s a man who knows how to make the gruesome fun, ay?

NOTE: Comments will be open as usual, but do excuse me if I don’t reply immediately in these next few weeks.

  3. hey there amy,
have a great time! as I type this I am in the lobby of my hotel in brussels. so far we have been to bulgaria, the netherlands, and germany. we head back nl before returning home on the 31st. this was my first transatlantic trip since being diagnosed with t1 in january 07 and since starting on the omnipod in may08. this going on vacation with the big D is a LOAD of work, but the pod has made all the difference in my happiness while traveling. make sure you take a ton of pods.
    happy travels!
