For Max, the biggest problem with diabetes is frustration -- he doesn't want to stop to fiddle with blood sugar testing, he wants to GO. It was great to see him take that frustration and use it in a constructive way, and it just wouldn't have happened without the challenge. It is appropriate that the challenge to design "a fresh idea for a product to help people live better with diabetes" was hosted here, because Diabetes Mine is unlike any other diabetes website; a wonderful mix of information, opinion and possibility. Thank you, Amy, for being a terrific, honest, and innovative advocate for all of us. As the proud parent of the under-18 winner, I have to say kudos to Amy for organizing this.
