Hi !

Our rep here is Slovenia announced that coming in next year Paradigm will fulfill first part of loop. If you are using Paradigm with sensor, when pump discovers that your BG is falling (under allowed treshold) it will stop the pump... So this is step forward I would say...

Hi Amy,
Thanks for the great narrative of the Expo! It is so great to hear about all the future technology you get to see.

Very exciting about the latest from MedT. I have been using their pumps for years and am really happy with their CGMS, but I hate the tubing and have been eying the Omnipod for just that reason.

I agree with Thomas that Insulet probably has more work ahead of them than Medtronic as far as developing an integrated patch pump/CGMS (but I did hear they were partnering with Dexcom). Either way, we win because the technology is only going to get better.

Thanks and keep us posted!

Wow, Thomas, I must have just been really tired. Because I had no intention of coming across anti-Medtronic. Of course they're a great company, with a leading pumping system. And the Guardian, too. And a great attitude toward dealing with customers.

(My writing style is just inherently sarcastic, in case you didn't notice by now ~grin~)

Interested in why the pro-insulet/anti-medtronic-other "big guns" mantra. I'm admittedly biased, but making a pod pump seems MUCH simpler than integrating a continuous glucose monitoring system with a pump. Just curious...and also, wondering about anyone having a negative take on medtronic. I recently found out that they spend 2.5 times more on R and D than all other pump companies combined. They made a commitment to closing the loop, and have gotten us closer than anyone else in the industry at this point. Just wondering if there is something about them that turns you off. Thanks in advance, and I appreciate your site.
