The idea behind this contest is to foster innovation in diabetes design and encourage creative new tools that will improve life with diabetes.
Last week, I shared my new life’s mantra with you: be bold.
I have been bold in putting this competition together, and putting it out there. Now I’m hoping some of you will be bold and share your creative concepts about how to improve life with diabetes. (God knows there are plenty of things to improve upon.)
So do you have an idea for a device or design that would make YOUR life better with the Big D? You don’t have to be am R&D professional or even an engineering student. You could win $1,600 in cash and some very high-quality professional assistance in making your design dream come true. So don’t wait. Enter now!!
All right, and while I’m encouraging D-related creativity, let me mention a few other contests in the same vein: You’ve only got a few more days to submit your child’s artwork to the Drawing Diabetes Contest over at TuDiabetes. Surely every child living with this @#$! disease has a vision in their head of how it makes them different. So give them some crayons or markers or paint and see what materializes.
Also, just closing for submissions today is Novo Nordisk’s Dancin’ To Change Diabetes Contest (“So You Think You Can’t Dance?). Can’t wait to see the videos comin’ out of that one.
The Inspired by Diabetes Creative Expression Competition, sponsored by Eli Lilly and the IDF, has just chosen its winners, I read. “Both contests will pay tribute to their winners in San Francisco during the American Diabetes Association (ADA) 68th Annual Scientific Sessions in June.” That conference is in fact hitting my hometown on June 6. I will of course be there with bells on, so can report back on those winners in full-color liveblogging glory.
Meanwhile, GET YOUR DESIGNING CREATIVE ON, will ya?
