The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is focused on finding the cure for Type 1. And there most certainly is no scientific evidence on the "seasonality" of Type 1. The only predictable measure for Type 1 at this time is TrialNet (diabetestrialnet.org). It is important to remember that the research you mentioned is not going to find the cure for Type 1.
