I tell you there is so much more info out there now than there was when I was diagnosed 29 years ago. I actually had a doctor tell me I could eat a whole pie and all I would do was pee alot. Your story reminds me so much of myself being mad, who cares and not bothering with numbers or anything. Yor wake up call was a positive one, so many people in my family with types 1 and 2 don't get that wake-up something bad happens due to a complication ,myself included. Stay positive and theres no telling what kind of difference you will make in a kids life.I wish someone like you was around when I was a kid, maybe things with my type 1 would be different than what they are now. Kudos to you. Good for you Maureen.
